Deleting a Location

Learn how to permanently delete a location from your Awardee account.

Who is this for?

Account owners and administrators who need to remove a location from their account.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Billing page

  • NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Required permissions to delete locations

โš ๏ธ Important Warning

Deleting a location is permanent and cannot be undone.

  • All tools associated with that location

  • All feedback history

  • All AI chat history

  • All location settings and configurations

  • All alert contacts for that location

Your subscription will be adjusted, and you'll no longer be charged for that location.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to the Billing Page

  1. Use the location switcher to select the location you want to delete

  2. Click on Billing in the sidebar navigation

2. Locate the Delete Location Section

  1. Scroll down on the billing page

  2. Find the Delete Location section

3. Initiate Location Deletion

  1. In the Delete Location section, click the delete button or link

  2. A confirmation dialog will appear

4. Confirm Deletion

  1. To confirm, type DELETE (in all capital letters) in the confirmation field

  2. Click the final confirmation button

Expected Result

  • The location will be permanently deleted

  • All associated data (tools, feedback, chats) will be removed

  • Your subscription will be updated

  • You'll no longer be charged for this location

  • The location will no longer appear in your location switcher

Common Mistakes

Typing "delete" in lowercase: You must type "DELETE" in all capital letters.

Deleting wrong location: Always verify you're viewing the correct location before deleting.

Not backing up data: There's no way to recover data after deletion.

Expecting refunds: NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Whether pro-rata refunds are provided for deleted locations.

Troubleshooting

Can't find delete option: Ensure you're on the Billing page of the specific location you want to delete.

Confirmation not working: Make sure you typed "DELETE" exactly (all capitals, no spaces).

Delete button disabled: NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Whether there are restrictions on deleting locations (e.g., must have at least one location).

Checklist

  • [ ] Export or save any important feedback data

  • [ ] Download any reports or analytics you need

  • [ ] Notify team members who use this location

  • [ ] Update any external links or QR codes pointing to tools in this location

  • [ ] Verify you're deleting the correct location

  • [ ] Consider pausing instead if you might need the location again

Alternatives to Deletion

Temporary closure: NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Whether locations can be paused or deactivated instead of deleted.

Archive tools: Instead of deleting the location, you could simply stop using the tools.

Reduce costs: If cost is the concern, consider consolidating locations.

What Happens After Deletion

  1. Immediate removal: The location is deleted immediately upon confirmation

  2. Subscription update: Your billing is adjusted for the next cycle

  3. Data deletion: All associated data is permanently removed

  4. QR codes stop working: Any QR codes for tools in this location will no longer function

  5. Links become invalid: Direct links to tools will show an error
