Deleting Your Account

Learn how to permanently delete your entire Awardee account, including all locations, tools, and data.

Who is this for?

Account owners who want to completely close their Awardee account.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Billing page

  • NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Required permissions to delete account

โš ๏ธ Critical Warning

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.

  • All locations in your account

  • All tools across all locations

  • All feedback history from all locations

  • All AI chat history from all locations

  • All settings and configurations

  • All alert contacts

  • Your subscription will be cancelled

There is no way to recover this data after deletion.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to the Billing Page

  1. Click on Billing in the sidebar navigation

2. Locate the Delete Account Section

  1. Scroll down on the billing page

  2. Find the Delete Account section

  3. This section will clearly state what will be deleted

3. Initiate Account Deletion

  1. In the Delete Account section, click the delete button

  2. A confirmation dialog will appear with a warning

4. Confirm Deletion

  1. To confirm, type DELETE (in all capital letters) in the confirmation field

  2. Read the warning message carefully

  3. Click the final confirmation button

Expected Result

  • Your entire account will be permanently deleted

  • All locations, tools, and data will be removed

  • Your subscription will be cancelled

  • You will no longer be charged

  • You will be logged out

  • You cannot log back in with these credentials

Common Mistakes

Typing "delete" in lowercase: You must type "DELETE" in all capital letters.

Not understanding permanence: This action cannot be undone. All data is lost forever.

Expecting to keep data: There is no data export before deletion. Save what you need first.

Assuming you can reactivate: Once deleted, you'll need to create a new account from scratch.

Troubleshooting

Can't find delete option: Ensure you're on the Billing page.

Confirmation not working: Make sure you typed "DELETE" exactly (all capitals, no spaces).

Delete button disabled: NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Whether there are pending issues that must be resolved first.

Before You Delete Your Account

Data You Should Save

Feedback records: Export or screenshot important feedback for your records.

Invoices: Download all invoices for accounting purposes.

Tool configurations: Document your tool setups if you might recreate them elsewhere.

AI chat insights: Save any valuable customer interaction insights.

Contact lists: Export alert contact information.

Alternatives to Account Deletion

Delete specific locations: Instead of deleting your entire account, delete only the locations you don't need.

Pause subscription: NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Whether subscriptions can be paused instead of cancelled.

Reduce locations: Keep one location active with minimal tools to maintain your account.

Export and recreate: NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Whether there's a way to export settings for future use.

What Happens After Deletion

  1. Immediate removal: Your account is deleted immediately upon confirmation

  2. Subscription cancellation: Your subscription is cancelled, and no further charges occur

  3. Data deletion: All data is permanently removed from Awardee systems

  4. Logout: You're logged out and cannot log back in

  5. QR codes stop working: All QR codes become invalid

  6. Links become invalid: All tool links show errors

  7. Email address freed: NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Whether the email address can be used to create a new account later

Billing After Deletion

Final charges: NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Whether you're charged for the remainder of the billing period or if there's a pro-rata refund.

Pending invoices: Any unpaid invoices must be settled.

Refund policy: NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Refund policy for cancelled subscriptions.

Creating a New Account

If you delete your account and later want to use Awardee again:

  1. NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Whether you can use the same email address

  2. You'll need to set up everything from scratch

  3. No data from the deleted account can be recovered

  4. You'll start with a new subscription
