Editing Tool Settings

Learn how to modify your tool's configuration, including name, description, modules, and feedback routing.

Who is this for?

Users who need to update or reconfigure existing tools.

Prerequisites

  • At least one tool created

  • Access to the Tools page

  • NEEDS CONFIRMATION: Required permissions to edit tools

What you can edit

  • Tool name and description

  • Product barcode settings

  • Module availability (Page, AI Assistant, Feedback)

  • Customer journey flow

  • Feedback routing (private page vs. review sites)

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to Your Tool

  1. Go to the Tools page in the sidebar

  2. Click on the tool you want to edit from the list

2. Access Tool Settings

  1. On the tool detail page, click Tool Settings

3. Edit Basic Information

  1. Update the tool name as needed

  2. This is the internal name you see in your dashboard

  1. Update the description to help identify the tool's purpose

4. Configure Product Settings

Is this tool for a manufactured product with a barcode?

  1. Select Yes or No

  2. If Yes:

5. Configure Customer Journey

How customers get help

Customers either see a Page first, go directly to your AI Assistant, or leave Feedback only.

  1. Select from the dropdown:

  1. Select Yes or No

  2. This determines if customers can access the AI Assistant from other sections

6. Configure Feedback Routing

Where customers go after leaving feedback

Choose one of the following options:

  • All customers see a private thank-you message

  • No public review risk

  • Redirect customers to a specific URL after feedback

  • Happy customers (based on star rating) go to Google

  • Unhappy customers see a private feedback form

If you select the Google reviews option:

  1. Which star rating sends them to your review site?

  1. Where should we send happy customers?

  1. Enter the Google Business Profile ID or Custom URL

7. Save Your Changes

  1. After making all edits, click Save Changes

  2. Wait for the confirmation message

Expected Result

  • Your tool settings will be updated immediately

  • Changes apply to the tool link and QR code

  • Customer experience will reflect the new configuration

  • Existing tool links and QR codes continue to work with the new settings

Common Mistakes

Not saving changes: Always click "Save Changes" or your edits will be lost.

Removing all modules: Ensure at least one way for customers to interact (Page, AI Chat, or Feedback).

Wrong customer flow: Think through the customer journey before changing where they go first.

Incorrect review site settings: Test your Google Business Profile ID or custom URL to ensure it works.

Troubleshooting

Changes not saving: Ensure all required fields are filled correctly and try again.

Tool not working after changes: Clear your browser cache and test the tool link again.

Google Business Profile not redirecting: Verify your Google Business Profile ID is correct and active.

AI Assistant not showing: Check that you enabled "Show AI Assistant button" and that the AI Assistant module is active.
